The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Street Food in Europe

We all heard this saying that “when in Rome do as the Romans”. So trying out the street food of any
country is very important. I went on a vacation to Europe so how could I miss on the street food.
Street food in Europe is the way of saving money but also it is a form of cultural expression in out here
and other countries. So given below are the essential European street food options in each of the cities
which I tried out. The local people helped me a lot to get familiar with different types of street food in
Europe.

The best street food in Europe

 Berlin, Germany: Currywurst.

Although Doner Kebab is the most popular street food
choice in Germany my trip was incomplete without currywurst. This dish is a white
sausage, diced and served with fries. It was accompanied by a special sauce- a mixture of
curry and ketchup. I tried out the mayonnaise on the fries to get an adventurous feel. The
exact location to get this Curry 36, Mehringdamm 36, 10961 Berlin.

 Brussels, Belgium: Waffles.

This is something which I love to have. It is crunchy but soft. It
is sweet and warm. In Brussels and almost the rest of Belgium, there are thousands of amazing
places at eating waffles. One can eat waffles in the tranquillity of a park, at a comfortable café or
even while walking in the subway. I made sure to try their various toppings on the waffles.
The toppings ranged from powdered sugar to fresh strawberries with chocolate. Try waffles
at Maison Danday, Rue Charles Buls 14, 1,000 Bruxelles, Belgium.

 Rome, Italy: Gelato.

Although Italy is famous for pizza it totally be a crime if someone
misses out the lovely Italian ice cream. The fresh Italian ice cream is known as Gelato here.
There were many flavors like chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, coffee, stracciatella. Try this
at Via, Silvio Spaventa, 24/26, Rome, Italy.

 Madrid, Spain: Churros.

The best way to start the day is by chocolate. According to
Spaniards the best time for churros is in the morning for breakfast. I tried it for lunch because
of too much chocolate and too sweet for early breakfast. I tried these at San Gines
Chocolateria, Pasadizo San Gines, 5, 28013 Madrid, Spain. They give traditional churros and
it’s the best out here.

 Paris, France: Crepes.

This is the French specialty. There are options with fruit or chocolate
or savory versions with cheese. I tried out at Creperie Broceliande, 15, Rue des Troi Freres,
75018 45200 Paris, France.

 Amsterdam, Netherlands: Stroop-waffles.

It is waffles with syrup. This has been famous in
The Netherlands from the eighteenth century and can be easily found in most of the shops. I tried
it out at Original Stroopwafels, Albert Cuypstraat 182, 1073 Amsterdam, Netherlands. They
make it with traditional ingredients.

 London, England: Fish and Chips.

This is simple, fried and tasty. It is always on the menu
in the UK. Having them with freshly squeezed lemon for a tangy twist. This is a street food
bliss. I had them at 1183 Finchley Rd, Golders Green, London NW11 0AA, UK.

 Warsaw, Poland: Pierogi.

This is ravioli parcelled inside a little bit of pasta. It has minced
meat, potatoes, vegetables, cheese, and other ingredients combined. It is also combined with
fries and soup. I totally loved it and the place was Zapiecek, Nowy Swiat 64, 00-999
Warszawa, Poland.
