The Best Adventure Sports you Should Book in Scandinavia
Scandinavia comprises of Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. There are many adventure sports available
out here. I was lucky enough to enjoy the best adventure sports in Scandinavia. I would suggest
everyone book their tickets and experience the best adventure sports in Scandinavia. Starting from
kayaking through vast fjords to herding reindeer and searching for rare eagles is truly outstanding and
will not be found anywhere else in the world.
An unimaginable experience
1.) The first one which I tried was joining Sami’s herd of reindeer. This herd moved towards the
north coast of Norway. This reindeer migration adventure was organized by Regent Holidays.
It was absolutely a different experience. It was a seven-day long trip. I got to live and herd
with the reindeer and Sami. I slept in traditional tents and also helped the herd move across
the vast frozen lakes, plateaus and mountains. The only condition is that a person needs to be
physically fit for doing all this. The rewards were immense as I gained a unique insight into
the Sami way of life.
2.) The next one I explored was Denmark’s extraordinary coast. Hiking along the Danish
coast was amazing. I got to discover the vast sandy beaches and impressive Viking heritage of
Denmark’s varied coastline. It was a 10-day hiking trip and was organized by Ramblers
Walking Holidays. I got to see the remarkable wild places and past of Denmark. I made short
trips to important historical towns and sites. I visited the Iron Age and Viking graves in
Lindholm Hie, the historic market town of Aabenraa. I trekked across the Lakeland setting of
Rands Fjord. I also sailed through the Kiel Canal. It was the world’s busiest waterway. It took me
for a mile’s journey from the North Sea to the Baltic.
3.) I then went for a six-day kayak adventure with Evaneos. I got completely lost by seeing the majesty of the fjords of western Norway. Kayak Norway’s spectacular western fjords were
worth visiting. Starting beside the waterfalls of Geirangerfjord I paddled amongst coastal
islands, crossed the great Stortford and had a wild camping at the historical sites each night. I
enjoyed the fresh fish cooked over an open fire. There I got plenty of opportunities to hike
into the mountains. It was memorable to visit here and see the beauty from the water level.
4.) Bobsled like an Olympian was the next adventure that I tried. It was a three-day trip. I had to
squeeze myself into a lycra body suit and I hurtled down a mountain at ludicrous speed. It
was a bobsledding weekend in Norway’s Lillehammer with Exodus. It was the same run used
by Olympians. I got a chance to experience pure adrenaline on an unforgettable weekend in
southern Norway.
5.) Walking through Norway’s land of the Giants was my next adventure trip. This was one
of the finest treks which I did. The ultimate goal was climbing to the top of Galdhopiggen
which is the highest peak in Norway. I got to walk across the fairy-tale blue ice of
Svellndosbrean glacier. I stayed in well-appointed mountain refuges which included all the
meals. It was an 8-day long trip.
