Europe is a destination which everyone wants to visit once in their lifetime. I was recently fortunate \nenough to visit Europe. But like everyone I didn\u2019t visit the same locations. I had decided to explore \nEastern Europe. This is that part of the country which has been long neglected and ignored by the \ntourist industry. It is now becoming popular among backpackers and travellers. I was attracted by \nthe grandeur of cities like Prague and the beauty of the islands along the Croatian coastline but also there \nwere other reasons to visit. So here are the best places which I visited and things that I did.<\/p>\n
A tour to Eastern Europe<\/strong><\/h2>\n
1.) I am a nature lover so the first place which I visited was the Plitvice Lakes<\/strong>. It was one of the \nmost beautiful things that I saw. This place is located inside a huge National Park in Croatia. \nIt comprises of sixteen different lakes which are set on a series of terraces through which the \nwaterfalls flow down into the next lake. The place is surrounded by a huge amount of wildlife \ndeer, including bears and wolves. The deep blue colour of the lakes was sublime and made \nthat overall day gorgeous.<\/p>\nPlitvice Lakes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
2.) My next stop was Split. Although it is not the most famous city in Croatia it has enough \nto offer. It has added benefit and less tourist. It is one of the unusual and fascinating places in \nthe whole country. I visited places like the old summer palace of the Roman Emperor, \nDiocletian. It was wonderful to walk on the streets of this city as it had Roman ruins. I also \nclimbed the old Romanesque bell tower and caught a stunning view over the Mediterranean \nSea.<\/p>\nSplit<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
3.) The next beautiful destination was Bratislava<\/strong>. Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia. It is often \noverlooked in favour of its more famous counterparts, Budapest and Prague. The centre of the \ntown was absolutely gorgeous and offered a unique insight into the beautiful country it is \nsituated in. The city is a small one and had a small town atmosphere. I could easily find cheap \nand traditional food. It was interesting to wander the streets of the medieval city. The \nbuildings were of the 12th century. The castle, perched on top of the crag overlooking the city was \nstunning and the countryside even more.<\/p>\n

4.) Slovenia<\/strong> is often called little Switzerland, but the beauty of the country is unique and \nincomplete without Lake Bled. So my next stop was Lake Bled. It was surrounded on all sides \nby the mountains and forest. The lake had very clear water and it was perfectly blue. It was \nlike a fairy-tale atmosphere and was increased by the castle perched on the crag over the lake. \nThere was a church built on the island in the middle. I went to that island to have lunch. Bled \nalso had some of the most excellent outdoor sports like swimming, bungee jumping and \nwhite-water rafting. I tried bungee jumping. It was an outstanding experience.<\/p>\n

5.) Kutna Hora<\/strong> is located less than a day\u2019s travel out of Prague. The slightly morbid nature of the \nKutna Hora bone chapel didn\u2019t stop me from visiting there. The chapel was built in the 13th \ncentury. It was a prime graveyard site due to the fact that a monk had sprinkled soil from the \nHoly Land around it. There are many people buried and so the remains began to be stored in \nthe chapel, which actually now has the bones of around 40,000 people in it. Now eventually \nmonks began arranging the remains into patterns. The top of the list of sights is the fantastic \nbone chandelier.<\/p>\n
