\ndecided to explore the top 10 unusual places in Europe. These places have some unique things which
\nnon-of-us can expect. So given below is the list of top 10 most unusual places in Europe.<\/p>\n

1. Tinto River, Spain:<\/p>\n

The River actually flows through the city of Huelva in the southwest of
\nSpain. This was the first place that I visited. Now why this is unusual? This is because the
\nname of the river means \u2018painted\u2019 in Spanish. Tinto River got this name due to its brick-red
\ncolor. It was brick-red because of the area around the river a mine of copper, gold and other
\nmetals. So many years of mining of high level of iron got dissolved in the river. This makes
\nthe river water extremely acidic in nature. The color of the river attracted me the most.<\/p>\n
2. Kjeragbolten, Norway:<\/p>\n

This was my second stop. This place is a true example of how nature
\nis magical and unpredictable. This is a mountain rock which is located in Rogaland country in
\nNorway. The best thing was that the boulder was placed between two cliffs at an altitude of
\n984 meters. It gave me a look like it was floating in the air. This is a very popular tourist
\nplace. I tried the base jumping sport here. Reaching this place was not easy and climbing
\nthe mountain was also tough. It also required some climbing equipment. The view from the
\nrock was truly amazing.<\/p>\n
3. Hum, Croatia:<\/p>\n

This is located on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia. It is called the smallest
\ntown in the world. But the place is not small. The town was established in the 11 the century and
\nis still intact. According to the records of 2011, this place has only two streets and 30 citizens.
\nThis place is small but is known for its unique Mistletoe Schnapps. I visited this place around
\nthe end of October. All the brandy makers also gather here for the fair. I tasted the different types
\nof brandy in the fair. I visited another place which is near to Hum. This place is known as the
\nGlagolitic Alley. It connects the town of Roc with Hum. It has a series of 11 monuments.<\/p>\n
4. Popeye Village, Malta:<\/p>\n

This place didn\u2019t exist 40 years ago. It was Disney productions who
\ndecided to use the place near Mellieha as a film set for the Popeye musical movie. The
\nconstruction was known as Popeye village. Primarily it is known as Sweethaven. It was the
\ninfluence of the comics of E.C. Segar. In today\u2019s world, this place is a popular family fun
\npark. Children can meet characters such as Popeye, Olive, and Wimpy. I enjoyed the boat trip
\nwhich was around the village bay. I watched various shows too. The entrance to this place
\ncosts around 16 Euro which includes every activity in the park except food. I got a glass of
\nwine free at the entrance.<\/p>\n
5. Green Lake, Austria:<\/p>\n

This Lake is known as Gruner See in German. This is the most beautiful
\nlake in Europe. This is because it has crystal emerald-green water. This is not the main reason
\nto visit this place. I got to know that this lake is made out of the snowmelt from Hochschwab
\nMountains. In summer time it dries up due to the high temperature. In the springtime, it fills
\nwith water and sometimes the depth is up to 12 meters. I explored the underwater park by
\ndoing scuba diving. Other types of water activities are prohibited. This is so to control the
\nenvironment pollution.<\/p>\n
6. Giethoorn, the Netherlands:<\/p>\n

This is a fairy-tale-like village which is situated in Holland, in
\nOverijssel province. The most shocking thing about this village is that it does not have any roads.
\nAt first, I thought it is impossible. But this village is completely built on tiny islands which are
\nconnected by canals and over 180 wooden bridges. This is popularly known as the Dutch
\nVenice, Giethoorn. It is attracting tourists from decades. I feel the people who live here are
\nlucky. I feel that a usual day out here is not that usual. It consists of boat rides and each of the
\nislands has a walking path along the canals. I visited the Giethoorn \u2018t Olde Maat Uus museum.
\nThere I got to see the life in Giethoorn and how it looked like a few centuries ago. This is an
\nabsolutely amazing place to visit and cannot be missed.<\/p>\n
7. Pamukkale, Turkey:<\/p>\n

This place is not in the European part of Turkey but still, it deserves
\nsome attention. This place is called the cotton castle. It is a natural reserve and it makes
\npeople think how something like this is possible? This is a natural site located in Denizli,
\nTurkey. It is considered one of the most visited attractions in the country. Pamukkale is
\nfamous for its thermal springs and white travertine terraces. In hot springs the temperature
\nranges from 35 degree Celsius to 100 degree Celsius. This makes it difficult for tourist access.
\nI had to dip my feet in the shallow pool and the entire area was shoe-free. This meant that one
\ncould walk barefoot since these springs could get easily polluted.<\/p>\n
8. Mont Saint Michel, France:<\/p>\n

This place is a fortified town on an island. It the most iconic
\nlandmarks of France. There are approximately three million tourists visiting this place. Even I
\nchose this place because it was listed as the UNESCO World Heritage site. This island is
\naccessible if there was ebb tide. But today it is connected to the mainland by a bridge. I visited
\nthe main island attraction which was the Benedictine Monastery. It was located on the top of a
\nhill and more than 50,000 pilgrims visited on St Michael\u2019s Day. I also went to the museum of
\nhistory which had a rich collection of old weapons, painting, and sculptures. I saw the old
\nprison during the reign of Louis XI. I did the souvenir shopping and had delicious crepe on
\nthis little island.<\/p>\n
9. Holy Trinity Monastery, Kalambaka, Greece:<\/p>\n

This is an eastern orthodox monastery. People will find this monastery very peculiar. This is built on the meteorite stones and this means \u2018in the middle of the sky\u2019. This is not the only monastery in Greece, but there are 24 of the same kind. People can only visit 6 of them. This is a trend which was popular in the 14 Th and 15 th
\ncentury because monks believed that it made them closer to god. There are two ways to reach
\nthis monastery. One is by climbing stairs and the second one is by taking the road on the
\nneighboring cliff and then going through the cable-car across the gorge between the two
\ncliffs.
\nAll these places were unique and visiting them was the best decision I took. I got to different things about
\neach place. All of them were unusual but I gained a lot of experience. These places should not be
